What is the SAE?
The Student Support Service (SAE) is the main department of support and assistance to the students at Unicamp. Our programs try to ensure that, upon entering the University, students can develop fully from the association of a quality education to an effective student assistance policy, which includes assistences related to house, food, transportation, health, sports, culture and leisure, as well as supports for educational orientation, juridical and labor market.
The objective of the SAE programs are create mechanisms for access to University students that have financial difficulties, social adaptations, among others, as well as design and develop academic improvement projects. This type of policy has ensured one of the lowest dropout rates in public higher education in Brazil. The SAE structure is designed to accompany the student since joining at Unicamp, through the completion of the course, and also guide them in their first steps in the labor market, through the Alummi Program. Currently, the SAE is linked to the Dean of Graduate (PRG) as the GR Ordinance 198/98, of 30/07/1998.
