Our History
Created in January 1976, by Dean of Undergraduate Studies (PRG), the Student Support Service was founded with the purpose of developing support programs and assistance to students who meet residence at the University difficulties, mainly due to economic problems.
This concern was born by observing the society and subject, in this case, the student of the University, and their needs in the economic, social and cultural context of the region of Campinas.
With time and with the discussions in an attempt to improve more and more students staying conditions at the University, new ideas were incorporated into the operation of SAE. The democratization of education and the school was, for example, one of the factors that encouraged the creation of new SAE programs and boosted the change of attitude towards existing ones.
A reflection on these issues and to make changes in their ways show that SAE sees the university space as a place not only learning, but also enrich the culture, to create new thoughts, debate and integral development people from the full exercise of their intellectual, emotional, affective and social potential. Because of this position, the SAE has gained new dimensions and new functions.
Currently, the SAE operates in several segments, in addition to social, accounting for various sectors at the University. Among them, we can highlight:
1- Social Services and Assistence-Wages Management;
2- Educational Orientation;
3- Juridical Orientation;
4- Cultural Action;
5- Internships and Jobs.
